Travis County WCID 10 Brings New Pump Station into Service

The new Drummond Pump Station came online mid-June and will help ensure the District provides high volume and pressure during emergency situations. It will also aid in pressure stability for recently improved areas. This site is equipped with an emergency stand-by generator to maintain operations during power loss.

Travis County Water District 10 has spent the last several years working to ensure its system is robust and prepared for emergency events. Many areas throughout the District have received new larger diameter waterlines. Feeding those improved areas is a new 300,000 gallon tank and pump station located at 5324 Bee Cave Road. The new pump station is named after former board president, Clif W Drummond, who put in close to 40 years of volunteering with the District. Unfortunately, he passed in 2020 before seeing the station come to fruition. Clif and former board member, Harvey L Ford worked tirelessly to put the projects together and create a vision for a safer Westlake Hills and surrounding area. The District would like to thank Prota Construction for their dedication to the project and resiliency during a time when material shortages and shipping delays proved to be extremely challenging. Additionally, the District is very grateful to have partnered with the City by cost sharing in paving, which resulted in increased improvements for the community. Special thank you to Mayor Linda Anthony who continuously offered support on the projects. Funding for this project was made possible by the voters in the District, passing the 2015 Water District 10 bond 1,192 voting for and 556 voting against. The Water District continues to round out the 20 approved projects and anticipates completing the most major project, McConnell Pump Station, in January 2024.
